From psychological horror and supernatural action to huge RPGs, arcade racers, shooters, and one particularly enormous trip back to Vice City, there is plenty competing for both your time and storage space.
Keeping track of every announcement can get confusing, though. Release dates move, games suddenly get delayed, and smaller titles sometimes appear only weeks before launch.

The schedule is especially dense in October, giving players everything from horror and racing to turn-based RPGs and competitive shooters.
September 2026 Ends With Several Major PS5 Releases
September still has plenty left.
Control Resonant launches globally on September 24 and shifts the spotlight to Dylan Faden. Remedy is taking players into a Manhattan warped by paranatural forces, with Dylan using supernatural abilities alongside a shape-shifting weapon known as the Aberrant.
The same day also brings Silent Hill: Townfall, a first-person horror game set around the Scottish island of St. Amelia in 1996. Horror fans may have a difficult decision to make that weekend.
One day later, Onimusha: Way of the Sword arrives on September 25. Capcom’s sword-focused action game follows Miyamoto Musashi through an Edo-period Kyoto invaded by supernatural Genma.
A playable demo has already given PS5 owners a chance to test its parries, deflections, critical attacks, and Oni abilities.
September 29 then brings Minecraft Dungeons 2, Toem 2, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered. There is definately no quiet end to the month.
October 2026 Is the Biggest Month on the Calendar
October is where the schedule becomes almost ridiculous.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve takes off on October 2, while Star Wars: Galactic Racer follows on October 6. The latter turns Star Wars’ high-speed racing culture into a dedicated racing game with different repulsorcraft and a progression-focused structure.

Hunter’s Moon, for example, is a first-person historical folk-horror experience set during one dangerous night in a 17th-century village, with the player controlling an accused “witch” trying to escape persecution.

Final Fantasy and Call of Duty Arrive Back-to-Back
October becomes even busier during its final third.
Final Fantasy Resonance launches October 22. Square Enix describes it as the first Final Fantasy presented through an HD-2D visual style, combining pixel-inspired characters and environments with modern effects.
Its turn-based combat includes Resonance attacks, summons known as Espers, and party-building mechanics.
A free PS5 demo is already available, covering the entire first chapter, and save data can carry over into the full game. That makes it unusually easy to test the gameplay before buying.
Then comes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 23.
Infinity Ward’s latest entry includes a single-player campaign, multiplayer, and the returning DMZ extraction mode. Multiplayer launches with 12 core 6v6 maps alongside additional modes and larger combat spaces.
Getting two huge franchises on consecutive days should make October particularly expensive for players interested in multiple genres.
Phantom Blade Zero Closes October With Fast-Paced Action
October 29 currently belongs to Phantom Blade Zero and The Wolf Among Us Remastered.
Phantom Blade Zero is likely to attract players interested in fast sword combat and wuxia-inspired action. The game follows Soul, a warrior caught inside a conspiracy and racing against limited time while exploring a dark, semi-open fantasy world.
Its visual identity blends Chinese martial arts influences with machinery and supernatural elements. PlayStation has described its style as “Kungfupunk,” giving the game an enviroment that looks noticeably different from more traditional medieval fantasy action RPGs.
Meanwhile, The Wolf Among Us Remastered offers something slower and more narrative-driven. Its focus on choices and investigation makes October 29 another example of how varied the PS5 release calendar has become.
GTA 6 Dominates the November PS5 Schedule
Then there is the game that needs very little introduction.
Grand Theft Auto VI is officially scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PS5 and PS5 Pro. Rockstar’s new open-world crime game follows Jason and Lucia across the state of Leonida, including a modern version of Vice City.
PlayStation’s official listing currently describes the launch version as a single-player experience. The PS5 version also supports DualSense features including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, with PS5 Pro enhancements listed as well.
The practical advice here is simple: check your storage before November.
Open-world Rockstar games have historically been substantial experiences, and even without guessing at the final installation size, clearing unnecessary games and captures ahead of launch is a sensible move.
With GTA 6 sitting almost by itself among the biggest November releases, many publishers appear to have plenty of reason to keep some distance from November 19.
December 2026 Has RPGs, Platforming, and Attack on Titan
The year does not stop after GTA.
Hela: of Mice and Magic arrives on December 1, offering a more relaxed adventure centered around a tiny mouse exploring a Scandinavian-inspired world.
December 3 is considerably busier. Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World launches on PS5 that day, following Bianca and Nera as they befriend, raise, synthesize, and battle monsters.
Square Enix has also confirmed online features and a large selection of creatures to collect.
Rayman Legends Retold is now scheduled for December 3 as well. This date is worth highlighting because the game was previously announced for October 1 before being delayed. The current PlayStation Store listing confirms the new December release date.
Finally, Attack on Titan 3 is currently set for December 10, giving action fans another major releas before the year closes.
What About PS5 Games Without Confirmed Release Dates?
Not every upcoming PlayStation game has a day marked on the calendar.
Several PS5 projects remain officially announced without final dates. GamesRadar currently lists titles such as Blighted and the PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 among releases still waiting for confirmed timing.
Looking further ahead, the PlayStation pipeline already extends into 2027. Upcoming titles include games such as Fable, Persona 4 Revival, God of War Laufey, and others, while several longer-term projects remain without firm dates.
